Bots such as bing and google Index the pages into their databases (XML/databases). For example when you make a topic, such as this. The link gets indexed with the meta data into search engines. And when you search for this topic on google it will appear in its results.

Skynet has physical robots unlike search engines who only have bots created out of PHP/Ruby/Python/Javascript/etc to index links & meta data from them.
